Listen, I’m gonna get a little personal with you all for a minute on here. Living in two places is hard. Having a young kid who also has to live in two places (and go to two schools and have two sets of friends and babysitters and clothes) is hard. And trying to support our 1st favorite Member of Congress from Colorado in these difficult and trying times is hard. But making the pod is really fun. Jason is such a great cohost (and producer and editor and outline-writer and clip-puller and hat-wearer) and our guests are so great and you, our fans, which is a group of people I actually cannot believe exist, are so great, that it’s all worth it.
This is a long way of saying I’m sorry for not getting this Substack out sooner, but life and travel and other things got in the way so I’m behind, which means you’ll be getting TWO NEW PODS from us this week if you haven’t already downloaded it wherever you listen (you should definitely do that too!)
Having said all that…THIS WEEK ON THE GET MORE SMARTER PODCAST I was in DC (as you may have guessed from ALL OF THOSE context clues!) where the GOP Micro-Majority is just getting so sick and tired of threats and shenanigans coming from…other members of the GOP Micro-Majority. Then, we check in on the smaller, more golden-domed capitol building in the centennial state where lawmakers only have a few weeks left to finish a big ol pile of bills; we ask the perennial question everyone else is asking too, “HOW WILL THEY GET IT ALL DONE IN TIME!?!?!” We also have an unfortunate amount of flatulence-related political content to squeeze out.
And finally, we take a look at the Colorado congressional races that are finally starting to take shape (sort of) with a report from Best Friend of the Pod and unofficial guest host, Christy Powell, who's back to deliver the good, the bad, and the broke from the first quarter fundraising period!
