With the shocking withdrawal of President Biden from the top of the Democratic presidential ticket yesterday, an historic event virtually unrivaled in American political history, we decided to stop having a nice quiet weekend with our loved ones and do an emergency pod! But now the takes have been took, the pods have been cast, and you, dear reader, are the beneficiary of this more-than-24-hours-after-the-fact newsletter.
We want to start with a disclosure: This podcast is completely, totally, hopelessly coconut pilled. If you’re of the opinion that we need to have some kind of complicated blitz primary, an open convention, or any other process that is not simply, “get in, Jack, we’re making Kamala Harris the President of the United States,” well, we disagree with you. But that’s okay! You’re entitled to your opinion, even (and especially if) you’re wrong.
So with Vice President Kamala Harris (and her preposterously good onion dicing skills) all but certain to lead the Democratic ticket, the only really interesting question is, who will she choose as her running mate?
Well, there’s the obvious political advantage to finding someone from an electoral college relevant state which, let’s face it, President Biden has been underperforming in for quite some time.
And then there are some out of the box picks. For our take on all of those, go ahead and stop reading this, start listening, and please make sure to tell all your friends about the Get More Smarter Podcast!
That’s it for this week’s episode! If you loved listening to it as much as we loved recording it, you can thank us by subscribing to the pod wherever you listen, following us over on Nice Twitter aka Threads, and forwarding this email or sharing this post with your friends, your enemies, and SOON TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, KAMALA HARRIS! THANK YOU so much for listening, and we’ll see you next time!
