A Very Special Guest Appearance on City Cast Denver

CityCast Denver took us back to the 9News studio circa 2016 in which Ian discusses every congressional race with his old GOP TV opponent Kelly Maher

The years were 2016 through 2018-ish. as then-executive director of ProgressNow Colorado I got the opportunity to regularly visit the 9News studio in Denver as the Democratic Political Expert for the most watched TV station in the entire state. It was a real dream gig (though it didn’t pay much!) and I made my first real honest to goodness Republican friend, a longtime GOP consultant named Kelly Maher. Though they never said it explicitly, toward the end of the 2018 cycle they stopped calling me to show up to the studio presumably because I helped engineer one of the greatest political pranks ever pulled off in Colorado ever of all time.

But I, as usual, digress.

Kelly is now someone I consider a close personal friend even though we fight like animals about plenty of issues (but also find more and more agreement with one another these days) so it was a real treat when City Cast Denver’s excellent producer/cohost/tallest guy on earth Paul Karoyli called us to ask us to come on the other great Colorado podcast to talk through all eight races for the United States House of Representatives in Colorado.
